Nic Blakeley: MBIE CEO on the independent review into a failed project that had its costs hidden

A failure in checks and balances is being highlighted as a reason for the breakdown in trust between the Immigration Minister and officials.   Erica Stanford says MBIE staff misled her about cost increases for a project to upgrade border biometric systems – with nothing to show for the millions spent.  The Public Service Commission is undertaking an investigation while MBIE does a stock-take of all its technology projects.  MBIE Chief Executive Nic Blakeley told Mike Hosking he's going to strengthen their processes and ensure their work is more visible.  LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
