Nicolás Villa presents: Electronic Unfoldings Episode 013 | Succinct Decade Mix (2009 - 2019), One Tune Per Year

from Our Passion is Music & Friends Official · host Serjey Andre Kul , Brad Baldwin , Nicolás Villa , & Eric Weber

Welcome to my 13th episode of Electronic Unfoldings! This week’s episode is quite special, however, it is deliberately shorter than usual. The reason why is that fitting all the great tunes of the past decade into one mix is almost impossible, it’ll have to be extremely long. Therefore, I took myself the challenge of making an 11 track mix where each tune represented to some degree (for me at least), the Trance sound of that year. These are not necessarily my #1 tunes of each year, but they definitely are some of my favorites. This set is also mixed “in curve” (gradually increasing from lower BPMs to higher BPMs, in this case: 132-140 BPM). For this reason, you’ll notice that the first few years are more progressive, balearic tunes, while the last, more recent few years are more “harder” styles of trance (uplifting, psy, tech, etc.). This for me coincidently was also the way my views and preferences of Trance music have varied throughout the past 10 years: From 2009-2013 the more progressive Trance styles of music defined the era for me. After 2014 till this day, the more “harder” styles have been the tendency for me.   This mix isn’t 100% accurate in regards to how I view Trance music in the past, I’d have to do a thorough review of my entire library which would take a very long time, plus a very very long mix. Yet, as I mentioned before, I took myself the challenge, in a short amount of time, to make a brief mix, that to some degree could musically visualize the past decade for me. I hope you all enjoy this trip down memory lane, and as always, have a great week! Next week I’ll be uploading my Top 25 tunes of the year mix, stay tuned for that! Tracklist: Ron Hagen & Pascal M - Riddles In The Sand [2009] Luigi Lusini - Who We Are [2010] Nuera - Green Cape Sunset [2011] The Blizzard - Piercing The Fog [2012] Armin van Buuren feat. Fiora - Waiting For The Night (Beat Service Remix) [2013] Jorn van Deynhoven - New Horizons (ASOT 650 Anthem) [2014] Greg Downey & Bo Bruce - These Hands I Hold (Sean Tyas Remix) [2015] Aly & Fila meets Roger Shah & Susana - Unbreakable [2016] Davey Asprey - Fallout [2017] Militia - Take Me There [2018] Paul van Dyk vs. Vini Vici - Galaxy [2019]
