Nicole Collins- How A Lack Of Auditions Pushed Her To Create Her Own Content

Nicole Collins is an actress, host and filmmaker from Louisiana.  She was born and raised in rural Alexandria, LA with a conservative,  Catholic upbringing. Her work is reflective of her transition from  this lifestyle to a more liberal, spiritual way of life. Although  Alexandria is home, her 12 years in New Orleans is where she blossomed  as a woman, actress and filmmaker. Her acting credits include HBO's  'Treme' and 'Twelve Years a Slave'. Nicole's hosting talents have landed  her gigs with iHeartMedia, the NBA, Essence Festival and We-TV. Nicole  has written and/or produced over 11 film projects which she's received  several awards in the film festival circuit. Nicole found a  creative outlet in filmmaking once audition opportunities became slim to  none. It was during this time that Nicole realized the fulfillment of  telling the stories and portraying the characters that she and her peers  wanted to tell and portray. "My goal is to tell stories that others  neglect to tell while making a positive impact on humanity", says  Collins. Her favorite subjects to touch on are sex, religion, women's  issues and healing. Nicole's goal is to continue to create content for  underrepresented voices. In 2016, she founded Magnolia A Productions.  Nicole is the mother to 7 year old actress, Aadyn Encalarde.
