NIETZSCHE: The Übermensch (Overman)

Nietzsche’s Übermensch (Overman) is among the most important of his teachings. The appearance of the overman most famously occurs in Thus Spoke Zarathustra. He is declared as “the meaning of the earth”. The overman is the ultimate form of man, he is one who overcomes nihilism by creating his own values and focusing on this life, not the afterlife. He puts all his faith in himself as an autonomous creator and relies on nothing else. He is the pinnacle of self-overcoming, to rise above the human norm and above all difficulties, embracing whatever life throws at you. He is one who overcomes mediocrity and is not afraid to live dangerously. We’ll be exploring the translation and origins of the Übermensch, its connection with Nietzsche’s early conception of the “free spirit”, the relation between the three metamorphoses, the tightrope walker, the last man, the higher man, the death of god and we'll finish by comparing it with the eternal recurrence and the will to power, where self-overcoming is what unites everything together.👑 Become a PatronAccess exclusive material and deeper studieshttps://www.patreon.com/eternalised⭐ Or become a YouTube Memberhttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqos1tl0RntucGGtPXNxkkA/join—Support the work☕ Buy a coffee: https://ko-fi.com/eternalised💸 PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/eternalisedofficial👕 Official Merch: https://eternalised.creator-spring.com—For deeper study📜 Full transcript: https://eternalisedofficial.com/2021/08/14/nietzsche-the-ubermensch-overman/📚 Personal library: https://eternalisedofficial.com/library💡 eBooks: https://ko-fi.com/eternalised/shop🎨 Artwork archive: https://eternalisedofficial.com/patron-benefitsStay connected📨 Newsletter: https://eternalisedofficial.com/subscribe✍️ Substack: https://substack.com/@eternalised—Elsewhere🐦 X: https://x.com/eternalised1📷 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/eternalised_official🎧 Podcast: https://anchor.fm/eternalised📘 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/eternalised━━━━━━━━━━━━━📚 Recommended Reading ▶ The Birth of Tragedy (1872)https://amzn.to/3uohsRi▶ Human, All Too Human (1878)https://amzn.to/2PDOmP7▶ The Dawn of Day (1881)https://amzn.to/3dyAE87▶ Thus Spoke Zarathustra (1883)https://amzn.to/2F89V55▶ Beyond Good and Evil (1886)https://amzn.to/2DDjLLL▶ On the Genealogy of Morals (1887)https://amzn.to/3jj0izq▶ Ecce Homo (1888)https://amzn.to/39L9j1E🎧 Prefer Audiobooks?
