NIFA Declines County Budget

In November, Newsday reported that Nassau’s financial watchdog group - the Nassau Interim Finance Authority otherwise known as NIFA, declined to approve the county’s budget, a first in six years, unless lawmakers fix what they are calling an "illegal" accounting approach within two weeks.
