NIGHT MEDITATIONS ON THE SUFFERING OF THE WORLD... a soundpoem
from Cliff Crego · host Cliff Crego
All of the glib talk about death penalties & execution horrifies me… As a kind of healing of this world-wide descent into barbarism...Here’s a little tongue-in-cheek, children’s rhyming #poem, a bit macabre, but not w/o truth resonance...perhaps... They say, we need a new death penalty. The philosopher in me asks, “Is this really true?“ Fear, suffering? We already have aplenty. Yet people of compassion, so very few. And yet, my heart might just change direction. Bicycle thieves, Bankers, Billionaires… Now there’s a trio beyond correction. “Off with their heads!” we shout, to clear the air. But do we need a new reign of terror? More nailing pain to the wood of a cross? To guillotine Wall Street, would that be error? Or be rid of fake Presidents, would that be loss?
