I don't like the term "Down-Tempo", but I definitely had my jazz slippers on when I rolled this one. Initially inspired by Prince's Scandalous Sex Suite. RIP Mr P. Late last night, I borrowed some of your toms, built a beat, noodled about, bounced and dubbed some sounds for about an hour, until I had this. I got the Beta Band's Dry the rain stuck in my head during the process, so there's an element of that in here too. I was conscious of avoiding a Serge Gainsburg, Lil Louis, Aphex Twin cliche, and throwing some time-stretched porn audio in there, but an hours distraction watching 70s Mexican mud wrestling, I'm now a big fan of historical sexual exploitation of moustachioed Latino women... while detoured from gathering samples of mummy and daddy time, resolved my conscience, and they went in too.
