He is an Anishinaabe writer, editor and activist based in Winnipeg, and is currently a Professor and Acting Head of the Department of Indigenous Studies at the University of Manitoba, where he holds the Faculty of Arts Professorship in Indigenous Knowledge and Aesthetics.
