Nine Turtles Return to Wild

Nine sea turtles, rescued off Cape Cod last December, were finally released back into the Atlantic off Ocean City this past Thursday after a successful rehabilitation program. Originally 31 turtles were rescued, with 29 already returned to North Carolina in April — one remains at the National Aquarium in Baltimore for extra care. The cold winter weather had caused widespread pneumonia, making their recovery all the more impressive. Aquarium director Malia Hale praised the community’s support and the team’s dedication, celebrating a major win for marine conservation.
