Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984) "Orwell's terrifying vision..." 👁
from New Release Hosted by Drew Lyon
This week on New Release 1984 … citizens Ashley, Derrick, and Drew subject themselves to the uncompromising oppression of—what must be—the definitive dystopian story. Nineteen Eighty-Four, the movie, takes the flat-out bleakness of Orwell’s imagined world and projects it onto the screen with little concern for what’s palatable. Despite the dark mood, we find value in returning to concepts of total surveillance and ‘double-think’ that, sadly, never go out of style. Come with us on a journey into the void in hopes you may get a taste of what totalitarianism feels like. Hitting too close to home? Okay, but, we promise you’ll hear us make the most of a bad hand if you search ‘New Release 1984’ on Spotify or Apple.
