Nino Haratischwili är verksam som författare, dramatiker och teaterregissör. Hon är född och uppvuxen i Georgien men bor sedan länge i Tyskland. 2014 fick hon sitt stora kommersiella genombrott med boken "Det åttonde livet (till Brilka)". På tusen sidor bjuder Haratischwili på ett storslaget, medryckande epos över det europeiska 1900-talet.
