Report an error / Discuss Old Age Status Nirvana Song Song Author Kurt Cobain Writing Period 1991 Recording Session(s) March 1991 - Boom box / 4-track demos May to June 1991 - Sound City, Van Nuys CA {prod by Butch Vig} Notes A 1:10 clip of this song surfaced in the late '90s ('97 or '98?) when The Stranger published an article on their site and included links to the song in both WAV and RealAudio formats. Krist Novoselic was rumored to have been the person that provided the tape to The Stranger. The song was originally found on an early '90s boombox recording that was given to Butch Vig a week before the Nevermind sessions. Kurt Cobain later gave the song to Courtney Love and Hole released their rendition on some formats of the '93 EP Beautiful Son, which featured a photo of a young Cobain as the front artwork. Hole also released the song on My Body, The Hand Grenade in '97, and played the song during their 1995.02.14 Unplugged session. Fake instrumentals of this song have circulated. Apparently someone wanted to prove how easy it was to fool people. No more prayers just clean my cover Some day I will die over He sings to me tonight And I know without a doubt There's no way out of you Heaven knows Old age Boombox recording (Interpretation 2) I'm not gone to invade my summer One more breath, could you be my plumber? Someday I wouldn't find a way to blow her I'm no breath couldn't be my sugar One more breath, could you be my plumber? Someday I wouldn't find a way to blow her Kill, kill, kill that In a low I'm gone Every way I am you, ever know Over you, over you From Hole's My Body The Hand Grenade And I will await your highness I'm so high I cannot walk And I will await You cripple You take away my pride My peace, my empathy No babies sleep on atrophy Your unborn love and fetal stress Hard bitter candy, legless caress What was she for Halloween? The ugliest girl you've ever seen Someday she will die alone What was she for Valentine's? An old forgotten concubine Someday she will die for no one She seems to me to know All that glitters is sour All the lies in her place Jesus saves Old age (x3) It's okay to kill your idols Just pretend you have no rivals We all know that she is friendless Spits at mirrors; it's not an issue Just remove the hateful tissues We all know her rage is endless She seems to me to know All that glitters is sour All the lies in her place Jesus saves Old age (x4) And then she begs and she says "Pretty please? I'll make her pure again; I'll make her clean" No one knows she's Hester Prynne Someone please tell Anne Boleyn Chokers are back in again Someday she won't have to fake it Living will itself seem sacred Someday she will just refuse She seems to me to know All that glitters is sour All the lies in her place Jesus saves Old age (x3) Jesus saves Old age (Rest in pieces) I'm sorry (Me in pieces) So sorry (Rest in pieces) I'm sorry (Me in pieces) So sorry From Hole's Unplugged Rest in peace and me in pieces Rest in peace and me in pieces And I will await your highness I'm so high I cannot talk And I will awake You cripple You take away my time, my peace, my dignity No babies sleep when you're near me Your unborn love and fetal dress Hard bitter candy, fated caress What was she for Halloween? The ugliest girl you've ever seen Someday she will die alone Someday she won't have to fake it Living will itself seem sacred Someday he will die alone He seemed to me to know All that glitters is sour All that lies in his place Jesus saves Old age (x3) It's okay to kill your idols Just pretend you have no rivals They all think that she is friendless Spits at mirrors, it's not an issue Just remove the hateful tissue They all think that we were friendless He seemed to me to know All that glitters is sour All that lies in my place Jesus saves Old age (x3) Jesus saves And I begged him I said pretty please Just make me pure again Just make me clean What was she for Halloween? The ugliest girl you've ever seen Someday she will die alone What was she for Valentine's? And old forgotten rape of mine Someday she will die He seemed to me to know All that glitters is sour All that lies in his place Jesus saves Old age (x3) Jesus saves Rest in peace and me in pieces Rest in peace and me in pieces Peace in pieces (I'm sorry.. so sorry..
