from African Dialogue · host Channel Africa

On our first segment we speak to a young person in South Africa about unemployment in the youth. According to the latest unemployment figures by Statistics South Africa more than two million people lost their jobs in the second quarter. In the first quarter of 2020, there were over twenty million young people aged 15–34 years of the total number of unemployed persons. The unemployment rate within this group was more than forty-three percent in the first quarter of 2020. The youth are the most vulnerable in the South African labour market. Let’s now go to the lines and speak to Nkululeko Ndlovu a young graduate himself and was the organiser of the fighting against graduate unemployment march earlier this year.
