“No Longer Slaves, but Sons!” - Galatians 4:1-7 - Rev. Dr. David Harding

In our passage, Paul is impressing upon the Galatians and, therefore, upon us, the wonders of what God has done to make us right with himself. We have not only been declared righteous in God’s sight through faith in Jesus (justification), but we have been brought into God own family as his dearly loved sons (adoption)! Because of Christ’s life, death and resurrection, and our union with him through faith, God is now our heavenly Father and we are his heirs, co-heirs with Christ of all the riches of his kingdom. Resting in these astonishing truths transforms our sense of identity, and brings a deeper assurance of our Father’s love for us and a greater freedom and intimacy of fellowship with him in prayer.
