On this show we present some of the speakers from the recent Hiroshima Day Peace Rally held in Naarm, or Melbourne.In the past, these events focussed on remembering the bombing of hiroshima on the 6th of August 1945, and on fighting for a nuclear free future. This year included more about a nuclear free present, with current threats such as the AUKUS submarine deal, the trilateral security pact between the US, UK and Australia risking war with China and the war in Ukraine.Organised by No AUKUS Coalition Victoria and supporting peace and community organisations and unions, Speakers included:Margie Beavis (Medical Association for Prevention of War)Fiona McCandless - Organiser, Health and Community Sector Union, and peace activist.
