No More Slave Mentality

Drawing form Exodus chapters 5 and 6, where Moses confronts Pharaoh we witness a profound truth: obedience to God doesn't always make life easier—at least not immediately. When Moses first approaches Pharaoh with God's command to let the Israelites go, things actually get worse at first. The workload increases, straw is withheld, yet the brick quota remains unchanged. This mirrors our own experiences when we step out in faith only to face increased resistance. The enemy's strategy hasn't changed—make things harder so we'll stop listening to God's voice and return to our comfortable bondage. But here's the breakthrough: God isn't asking us to find more straw to meet impossible quotas. He's calling us to freedom entirely. We're so busy trying to survive our slavery that we miss the invitation to leave Egypt altogether.
