“No More Tears”

Oct. 16,2026 Daily Devotional: “No More Tears” Revelation 21:3–4 "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.'" Life in a fallen world is often marked by heavy burdens—grief, physical pain, loneliness, and broken promises. We live in the "old order of things," where heartbreaks arefrequent and loss feels inevitable. Yet, in Revelation 21, God pulls back the curtain of history to give us a glimpse of our ultimate future, offering an anchor of hope for our souls today. Notice how intimate God’s promise is; In Hispresence, God does not just send relief from a distance; He comes to dwell with us. The Creator of the universe makes His home in our midst. In His tender touch according to the Scripture doesn't say tears will simply stop flowing; it says God Himself will wipe every tear from our eyes. Think of the tenderness of a loving parent soothing a hurting child. Every hidden sorrow you have carried is seen and cared for by God. There is a complete renewal in death, mourning, crying, and pain as it will be completely abolished. They belong to an old order that is passing away. This passage isn't just a promise for the future—it is strength for your present. Whatever pain or exhaustion you are carrying right now is not the end of your story. God is actively working toward a restoration so complete that every trace of hardship will be swallowed up in His joyful, abiding presence. Your current pain is temporary, but God’s loving presence and eternal restoration are forever. Surrender your tears and bring your current heartaches, anxieties, or pain directly to God in prayer today, knowing He deeply cares for your burdens. Shift your perspective when overwhelmed by bad news or difficult circumstances, take two minutes to meditate on the promise that a day is coming with no more pain or death. Let eternity give you strength for today. ​ At its core, Revelation 21:3–4 provides the climax of the Biblical narrative: God’s ultimate goal is not to rescue believers away to a distant heaven, but to bring Heaven down to Earth, dwelling personally and eternally among His people. It answers the deepest human longing—to be free from suffering and to live in uninterruptedrelationship with God.
