Trump brings out the worst kinds of people and this term it is on full display. The South Gonna do it Again was a folksy joke until the Supreme Court paved the way for new Jim Crow. Republicans everywhere are in a rush to be as racist as possible and it is stirring up a lot of race-based hate that has simmered under the surface of this county since the beginning. Failure to deal with the reality of the history of the USA finds us in a place where two young, black children are kidnapped and brutally murdered: Markavious Rumph and Kayla Huff. Then the racially motivated shooters in San Diego are stopped by a hero Amin Abdullah. A reminder that when hate arises, we must rise up as well.
