No One Should Pass On Debt Instead of Wealth - Kofi Thompson

from Your Next: A Guide to Finding Fulfillment After Your Exit Hosted by Jerome Myers · host Jerome Myers - Advisor to exiting founders

Living a life feeling like we do not have a choice hinders us from making better decisions. For Kofi Thompson, upon realizing the responsibility he has for his life, abandoned the scarcity mindset brought from the toxic environment he lived in.  Kofi Thompson has made it his mission to normalize the conversation around mental health and create avenues for people to express their challenges, get the support they need without the stigma and focus that energy into “life creating” habits. This passion came from mistakes he made trying to numb the trauma from his upbringing in a home with two parents who were diagnosed with chemical imbalances that presented as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.  As an empath, he has little tolerance for suffering and wants to help eliminate this source of pain for families across the nation.  Kofi is a true example of what it looks like to overcome your environment, channel your pain and use it to live out your dreams.  Today, he is a competitive powerlifter who holds the record for deadlifts in the state of Virginia, a financial advisor, and hosts a podcast called Thriving through Trauma where he helps those who are impacted by mental illnesses find their voices and learn about healthy ways to heal.   Kofi talks about his childhood, choosing his way out, and developing the evolved mindset regarding wealth and living life intentionally.
