No room to die

Too many people will be dying in the future and Israel is running out of room to bury them. A new study published by the Taub Center for Social Policy Studies in Israel finds that given the expected demographic surge of deaths in the coming decades, a fundamental change in burial practices needs to be implemented. Prof. Alex Weinreb, Chair of Demography Research at the Taub Center and author of the study told reporter Arieh O’Sullivan that current practice of free burials in one’s place of residence for eternity is not sustainable.
