No Shame
from Rick Manis Ministries Podcast · host Rick Manis
Shame is defined as the intensely painful feeling of believing we are flawed, and therefore unworthy of love and belonging. Our flesh is constantly at war with the Spirit that is within us, and shame is so often something we feel here on this side of Heaven. Even though Jesus doesn't condone the sin that makes us feel shame, He also doesn't condemn us. The reality is that Jesus made us new -- we are righteous! We can walk in freedom, knowing that even when our flesh fails, because it will, we are still loved, worthy, children of God. And when I passed by again, I saw that you were old enough for love. So I wrapped my cloak around you to cover your nakedness and declare my marriage vows. I made a covenant with you, says the Sovereign Lord, and you became mine. (Ezekiel 16:8, NLT)Support the show
