[no_sleep_mix_001] - Traction Engine

After what has felt like nearly an eternity… 😫 The first official [no_sleep_podcast] finally sees the light of day! 🎙️🎧 Listen here: https://on.soundcloud.com/uLBBNqRQJfeBYwv5gn Last year in June, we caught up with Arron (aka Traction Engine, Woodsman, TOXiK RavNGR) to talk about the origins of dance music culture in regional Victoria — how things have changed over the years, both locally and globally, our introduction to electronic music, and our thoughts on rave culture in general. Arron is one of the most underrated DJs in the local scene. A pioneering promoter for local events, and an active supporter of countless projects across the board. This format is how we always envisioned the [nstbt_podcast] series to be: an interview with the artist, followed by a DJ set. But due to time constraints and limited options at the time, we decided to move forward with just the DJ mixes instead. Arron was the first local to send us an [nstbt_podcast] way back when we started the series in 2014, and has since contributed over 10 mixes under his various aliases over the years 👏🏻 Featuring an exclusive mix of his trademark hard and heavy techno sound, filled with rave energy and his own quirky flair. We hope you enjoy the chat as we deep dive into the world of Traction Engine 🚂 Side note: After dealing with pet emergencies, moving house, dead laptops, and work in general being a fucking nightmare 😖 The second half of 2025 really did a number on us… We obsessed over organising new artwork, wrote and scrapped five different intros, and tried to clean up some technical difficulties we had in post-production 😫 What I realised is this: it’s not about being perfect — it’s about being real. All of this is real. Unscripted. Unedited. Warts and all. We aren’t some massive production company with sponsors. I’m just some guy who wants to chat shit with his mates and share stories. And I hope that never changes for as long as I’m able to do this. We hope you enjoy! 🙏🏻😁 #fuckbread ⸻ Track List 01] Deadly Thomas vs BSB – Everybody (BeatFood Inc Remix) 02] MixN – Our Type Of Party 03] Balrog – Water Lane (Raw Tool Mix) 04] Agent Zero – Overpressure 05] Dreum – Step Your Game Up 06] Blashear – Antighosting 07] Marcio M – Beyond The Fear 08] Mark Mayu – Flash Boot 09] Noise Not War – Brainstabber 10] Noise Not War – Beat You Back 11] Noise Not War – Bass Rider 12] GNRØ – Blackout 13] FL-X – Kickem 14] Electrorites – NoName 10 15] Yhunykx – Really Death (X-Pose Remix) 16] Mario Ranieri – Hardtechno Is Not For Babies (TRIPTYKH Remix) 17] En-Rage – Run To You (DJ Juanma Remix) ⸻ Traction Engine Pages SoundCloud: http://soundcloud.com/traction-engine-official Facebook: www.facebook.com/t.e.tractionengine Mixcloud: https://www.mixcloud.com/TractionEngineOfficial/
