Nobody To Leader - Achieving Global Leadership With Software

In this talk, Sanjiva Weerawarana discusses the story of WSO2 and how a global technology leader was built out of Sri Lanka, a country famous for tea, garments, tourism and sending people to work all over the world. The presentation also discusses how Abu Dhabi can build a culture of creativity and the ecosystem necessary to take advantage of its unique aspects to help build global technology leaders. In particular, the speaker focuses on the critical role of higher education institutions on fostering research and innovation to challenge the world to go from being a paying consumer of technology to a driving innovator and creator of technology which becomes a revenue source for the country.
