Nocturnal: 'Despedida'
from Rodolfo Planes Hosted by Rodolfo Planes
Due to health issues, I haven’t been able to play my instruments for several months, and I've had to put several ongoing projects on hold. These include the Continental Collision album, a progressive rock conceptual series, and my own solo power-trio rock album. To ease the anxiety and fill the void, I decided to release a very special piece of work. It is a tribute to the great composer and performer Astor Piazzolla, conceived on the day he departed this world. With the invaluable help of Ruben Nievas (@ruben-nievas-445742486) as arranger and pianist, Luis Nievas on drums, our late dear friend Jorge Rodríguez on bandoneon, and myself on electric bass, we present this tango-inspired piece: 'Despedida (a Astor Piazzolla),' performed live at the Niní Marshall Hall in Ushuaia.
