The Allah Team Radio presents: The History of the NOI Series  Dr. Donald Shabazz J.D.  "The History of Cincinnati Mosque No. 5 and Grand Rapids Mosque No. 61" In 1958, Donald Shabazz joined Mosque No. 5 in Cincinnati, the 1st mosque established by a student of the Most Hon. Elijah Muhammad sheparded by his early cadre of Ministers, where he served in every post of a Laborer besides Minister.  In 1965 Shabazz was approved by the Hon. Elijah Muhammad to be the new Minister of Mosque No. 61 in Grand Rapids, MI, formerly under the tutelage of the Brothers of Malcolm X (Philbert Omar). Under his Ministry Dr. Shabazz established 8 businesses in the city.  .In 1975, Imam W.D. Mohammed made Donald Shabazz the Imam of No. 61. In 1978, after the NOI fully converted to Sunni Islam, in disagreement with the new direction, Donald Shabazz left the Community of W.D. Mohammed, and attended undergrad and law school and became a lawyer. In witnessing the rise of the NOI under Minister Farrakhan, Bro. Donald Shabazz accepted the leadership of the Hon. Min.
