Noisey Neighbours - 23 - Record Store Day

from Arts Bar Podcast

Hello and welcome back to your 'Noisey Neighbours'.   This week we're talking all things RECORD STORE DAY!   With extended openings of over 200 independent record shops across the UK to special vinyl releases exclusive for the day, record store day showcases music at its finest including artist special performances. It's fast becoming a global music day event!   Our friends over at Phase One will be a new addition to Liverpool's Record Store Day landscape. A relatively new venue, the day will see performances in store from Zuzu, Munkey Junkey, Gene Pool and Bang Band Romeo. Ben and Wilson managed to get down there and speak to all the acts.   Wilson and Ben discuss Munkey Junkey and ZUZU as they didn't have time to grab them. Hopefully get them back soon for an update from ZU and some hot scoops from Kurran!   'Gene Pool' were up next and the boys had a laugh discussing sheds, make-up and televisions. Born out of experimental bedroom music ideas, the Brighton based band are a force to be reckoned with on stage and on the soundwaves!   Last but not least was Bang Bang Romeo. A voice that grabs your attention and clever covers to boot! This band will be the next big thing! Supporting PINK over her tour as well as plenty of other musical accolades under their belt! Get listening and grab their latest single which is out now!   If you have any questions please feel free to drop 'Liverpool Arts Society' a message on Facebook or Instagram! Don't forget, if you like the show, please give us a 5* review and share/comment/subscribe and all that Jazzzzzz! As always a massive thank you to our jingle maker herself, Emily McGlynn and to friends of the show Lawnmower - Amber lager!
