Norm Nathan's Vault of Silliness w/Tony Nesbitt - Ep 49 - The Eyes Have It

The Vault of Silliness is open. As I stroll around inside, this tape caught my eye. A Dumb Birthday game from August 3rd, 1991. I have titled this one: The Eyes (that's e-y-e-s), The Eyes Have It. It begins with the theme music I would play before we had a ‘real’ song. There weren’t many well-known people born on this day, so we dive into the rest of the week to fill out the game. The cast of characters includes: Judy from Needham The whispery George from Pepperell The ‘eye-catching’ Constance from Weymouth Scott in Peabody I’m producing and on the phone from the control room And Jack Harte in Traffic Birthdays with all the SFX: Martin Sheen Tony Bennett Lonnie Andersen Robert Mitchum Dustin Hoffman Esther Williams Melanie Griffith – now the jokes that ensue here are based on a national news story at the time. I’ll leave out the details and let the comedy slice its way to your funny bone. Lastly, we have Keith Carradine There’s yet another round of accusations that could result in a Birthday-ola/Dumb Birthday-gate scandal. Commercials: Joan Cantwell for Gold Bond Keep It In Your Sneaker Dr. Howard Smith Promo! Norm reads one for LoJack Sears Siding WBZ Promo for Patriots Football (Gil Santos and Gino Cappeletti) Steve Allen for Resolve Stop-Smoking Kit A very EYE-opening Dumb Birthday Game begins…now.
