Ella es enfermera en Tijuana y fue entrenada constantemente para tratar enfermos con enfermedades infectocontagiosas. Por varios años experimentó múltiples enfermedades oportunistas como resultado de su sistema inmunitario colapsado, a pesar de haber tenido una prueba de VIH erróneamente negativa.Norma ha mantenido una muy buena actitud ante las circunstancias que le marcó el destino y entereza para superar los retos. Este episodio fue grabado en Tijuana, México, ciudad fronteriza con San Ysidro en Estados Unidos, es el cruce fronterizo más grande del mundo.
