"Normal"
from How Do We Deal?! Coping With the Confounding · host Dara and Amber
What is normal? It depends. But as podcasters, our new normal is getting positive, fun, and relevant input from our Dealers! In the course of day-to-day life, "normal" means something different to Dara and Amber. As the neurodivergent parent of an autistic child, Amber assumed the idea of "normal" was oppressive and bad. Dara realizes how important "normal" was to her, while growing up, as a survival tactic. Staying in the middle of the pack felt safer, but is it now affecting how she parents her children? Amber also has a realization when Dara points out that some degree of "normal" is important for humans, because being constantly surprised and thrown off guard (like during the pandemic) is unsustainable. Bizarrely, they create an episode-specific theme song. Listen for it.Music by the talented Amanda Zorzi. Find her on Spotify:https://open.spotify.com/artist/4W7xuppzxE0ntRhDNncNtU
