North Dakota: State or Fiefdom? Ellen Chaffee and David Schwalbe

from Paradigms

Meet Ellen Chaffee and David Schwalbe, the only people to ever call for a Grand Jury against a sitting Governor in North Dakota, until the legislature changed the law effective immediately, making it impossible for them to proceed. The State of North Dakota gives every appearance of operating at the behest of the fossil fuel industry, from the governor on down through the regulatory commissions and boards. Bribery is for all intents and purposes legal, state officials receive unregulated funds and legislate in favor of the industry, against the interests of the citizens. The Dakota Access Pipeline is one such project. Music by: Robbie Robertson & The Red Road Ensemble, Third World, Patrick Dodd, Blackfire, John Trudell, and Buffy Sainte-Marie. The Emotionally Healthy Leader Podcast explores the paradigms and practices leaders need to transform their church culture and multiply deeply changed disciples. Dare to Think | Mere Liberty Podcast Kerry Baldwin To challenge and rethink our paradigms for understanding society, by applying Reformed theology and philosophy to politics, religion, and culture, in order to encourage individual freedom and responsibility within our own spheres of influence. Mere Liberty is about liberty at its most fundamental core. It's stripping away the rhetoric that we've become accustomed to hearing and challenging the paradigms that face us today. Mere Liberty is not about politics per se, rather it's about the philosophies (and theology) behind the problems presented in politics and culture. Challenging the manner in which we see these problems will push us to think beyond mere political solutions that in effect isolate us from own responsibility, and eschewing responsibility means relinquishing our associated freedoms.
