North Dakota’s First Hot Dog Eating Contest | Bismarck News
from Bismarck News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now!
North Dakota just got a whole lot more competitive — and delicious — with its inaugural hot dog eating contest at the State Fair, where ten gutsy eaters, including one from South Africa, raced to devour twelve hot dogs in six minutes. Darin Spelhaug from Wilton, celebrating his birthday, crushed the field to win a $100 Marketplace Foods gift card, while Cadey Shipman from Minot, who studied Joey Chestnut’s techniques, came in second. The crowd went wild, K-HITS’ Tom Schrader kept the energy pumping, and it’s just the beginning — the fair already hosted a pie-eating contest the day before. Competitive eating is officially taking root in the Heartland. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
