North Words: A North Country Photographer's Groundbreaking Trip

from WCNY Community FM · host WCNY Community FM

On the December edition of North Words, noted North Country photographer Nathan Farb looks back on his 1977 trip to Siberia. Farb's portrait photos from the Soviet Union led to a book at the time, and a new documentary this year, called "Nathan Farb and the Cold War." Plus, Ottawa musician and filmmaker Lloyd Frost has a new short film out - also set during the Cold War, in East Berlin. He made the trip across the border to tell us about “The Berlin Waltz.” From North Creek to South Colton, from Old Forge to New Bremen, North Words host Mitch Teich brings you interviews, on-site recordings, and special features that remind us what makes the North Country region so special. WCNY Community FM is pleased to present this monthly show from our colleagues at North Country Public Radio.
