North Words: An Epic Canoe Trip

from WCNY Community FM · host WCNY Community FM

On the April edition of North Words, writer Peter Lourie reflects on an epic canoe trip more than 30 years ago, from the headwaters of the Hudson River in the Adirondacks to the Atlantic Ocean. The trip inspired a book, “River of Mountains”. Then, Jess Milton, the longtime producer of CBC's The Vinyl Café, now hosts a podcast called “Backstage at the Vinyl Café.” It features some of the stories written and read by the late Stuart McLean, but also Milton’s behind-the-scenes view of the show, which aired for years and still has millions of devoted fans. From North Creek to South Colton, from Old Forge to New Bremen, North Words host Mitch Teich brings you interviews, on-site recordings, and special features that remind us what makes the North Country region so special. WCNY Community FM is pleased to present this monthly show from our colleagues at North Country Public Radio.
