Norwalk CT - Back Pain Project Radial Pulse Shock Wave

from Not Just a Chiropractor for Stamford, Darien, Norwalk and New Canaan · host brian

Radial Pulse Therapy as used by the Back Pain Project is indicated to treat pain from muscle, tendon, ligament, and bone injuries due to trauma, overuse, or arthritis.  It works by stimulating the breakdown of scar tissue and adhesions, causing an inflammatory response that increases blood circulation to the area and helps relieve pain, promote healing, and improve range of motion. The Radial Pulse Shockwave is applied to the skin over the affected area and shockwaves are transmitted into the tissues. The intensity of the shockwaves can be controlled and adjusted. During the initial 1-2 minutes of treatment, you may experience some discomfort following which chemical reactions occur that release your body’s natural pain killers. As the intensity of the shockwaves are increased, you will feel a thumping sensation. The affected areas are treated for a short period of time until about 2000-3000 shockwaves are delivered.. Pain relief and improved range of motion are usually noticed immediately following a session. Four to six treatments, each a week apart, are usually recommended. The Back Pain Project uses Radial Pulse Shock Wave Therapy as part of a comprehensive plan to eliminate chronic low back pain.  This along with several other therapies allows for lasting relief from herniated discs, spinal stenosis, and osteoarthritis of the lower spine.
