Not Again Podcast Episode 165 - Sivadorai Sellakannu

Sivadorai Sellakannu or Rai, one of the local music duo Jack & Rai, is a veteran and a swiss-army knife kind of guy in the media scene in Singapore. Rai had seen the rise of beatboxing in Singapore and how the trend went on in Singapore and morphed into what it had been today while we try to figure out how the community get together and be what it is today. We broke down the trends in music scenes and discussed what we meant when a band is evolving after Rai had explained the difference of hip hop and rap music. Rai had explained what it meant to be sincere and genuine when it comes to his art and what is it like to try to replicate consciously. We talked about the mundane and how it inspired him to do what he can do. He went on talking about the work he had done in his past life, being a school teacher. He went on sharing me the secrets of being a teacher and how it led him to take an ongoing sabbatical which lead him to his current career. Being involved in so many different form of media, him currently being the host and narrator of a current affairs show "The Talking Point", we talked about being skeptical and thinking critically while discussing our favourite conspiracy theories and what we think the local media had done right in doing shows with a greater temptation in to showing one's political leaning.
