Not all 'local' online stores are what they seem

from Morning Report

We're often told to shop local, but not all stores claiming to be NZ owned actually are. A website with the name My Tamariki, says it sells products that support everyday family life in New Zealand. However the business address is based in Hong Kong. According to reviewers on Facebook and Trust Pilot, the products it sells are also available on sites like Ali Express. So how can we make sure we're supporting local and not getting ripped off? Consumer's Chief Executive Jon Duffy spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
