The episode begins with Ugomma expressing profound fear and trauma following the assassination attempt on her husband, Utugbaraigwe. She questions if the risk of the election is worth their lives, fearing that the "enemies" will strike again. Her friend, Aruude, encourages her, arguing that the failed attack is proof of the enemy's desperation andthat Utu must not abandon the election to "corrupt people" now that he has won the hearts of the public.In a parallel scene, Madukanaya receives a report from his henchman, Akpamgbo. Akpamgbo claims they performed a "clean job," opening fire so relentlessly that "nothing wey dey breathe go survive for there". Believing Utu is dead and he is now "the only one standing for this election," the Boss celebrates his perceived victory, even anticipating that the "evil radio station" will ironically spread the news of his success.Contrary to the Boss's belief, Utu is alive and visits the police station to request that officers record the crime scene at his home. When the officer attempts to extort "mobilisation" funds (bribes) to move the men, Majie firmly refuses, citing the law, which stipulates that the public is not responsiblefor funding police operations.
