Yo, what's up guys? It's Timmy Ham, aka Sloth, illustrator, designer, back with another daily short. It's been a couple days. Honestly, I've just been trying to wind down and finish projects before Christmas.
Family in town, it's been crazy. I hope everyone's been having a good end of their December. And I just wanted to do one last little short podcast before Christmas because honestly, I'm probably not going to jump on here until the new year, maybe before the new year. I don't know, we'll see what happens, but I'm going to take a little break from content, spend some time with family.
So I wanted to hop on here and say what's up. Hope everyone has an awesome Christmas, and I just wanted, I was thinking about this today, and how the work that I do is so unpredictable, you know, like, I don't know what life is going to bring me in my career in the next, you know, year, two years, three years. It's always so like, when you follow something that, like your dreams, for the most part, especially in the creative world, there's no like, there's no roadmap. There's nothing to follow.
I mean, you can aspire to be like certain people, but it's not like becoming a doctor where you go to school for X amount of years. Like it's, that's very planned out with steps. And so it can be super challenging every day almost, you know, because there's that uncertainty of like, well, I don't know where it's going to lead me in a year. I hope I'm doing the right thing.
I hope things are, you know, progressing. And there are different things that you can do to kind of like gauge on if you're growing or not. But at the end of the day, you really just don't know, you know, so it's definitely something that's always challenging for me. But one thing I do in the new year is just I'll spend like a week and just dial down and just have like a mad goal slash vision session for a few days, sometimes a week.
And I just write down, I basically just create who I want to be this next year. So I just recommend anyone that, you know, is getting discouraged and losing hope because, you know, they've been pushing for something for a year, two years, a month, five years, you know, it's just like, just keep doing that. Whenever you get those little breadcrumbs of success, just use those for your fuel to keep going. Don't stop.
That's something I think is the most fun. I think the most fun about like doing these things that are like careers that you don't know where it's going to necessarily lead, like you have a vision, but you don't totally know what's going to happen is, it's so much more rewarding, I feel like, because when you do hit that goal and when you do hit that thing, you're like, you're like so pumped because you didn't know that if you did X, Y, and Z, you would for sure hit that, if that makes any sense. So I just, I just want to encourage everyone out there and myself, as we get into the new year, you know, whatever happened this year, good or bad, just stay encouraged, be grateful, and don't give up because you're probably super close to whatever goal you want to hit. And the grass isn't greener on the other side.
So anyways, guys, I hope everyone has a good Christmas and an awesome New Year's Day, New Year's Eve, all that stuff. I will be back full swing with content for sure in the new year on the 1st. Probably do a little bit in between here and there, but for the most part, I'll be out. So peace out, follow your bliss.
