Happy Women’s History month! Scripture is taken from Genesis 18.1-5 and Luke 7.36-50 from the thought "Not Named but Not Forgotten." Please remember the deeds and bravery of the marchers during Bloody Sunday on March 7, 1965. Over 600 were unnamed but their actions are not forgotten. Similarly, the woman in Luke is unnamed, but her actions are not forgotten. What can we glean from the interactions of Jesus, Simon the Pharisee, and the unnamed woman?Point #1 RELIGIOSITY does NOT make us RIGHTEOUS. vv 36-39 -Simon invited Jesus into the house but did not invite Him into his heart.-He judged Jesus according to his own personal biases.Point #2 Prioritize a RELATIONSHIP with Jesus over RELIGIOSITY. vv 40-48-Our decisions to CHOOSE Jesus today is what matters, not what we CHOSE in our past.-We are blessed in our PRESENT to be in Jesus' PRESENCE.-Simon did not greet Jesus the way the unnamed women did, she humbled herself and worshiped Him was forgiven by Him.Point #3 Know that Jesus accepts who man may reject. vv 49-50-Be more interested in a relationship with Jesus than recognition or approval from man.-Just as Jesus forgives us, we must forgive others.-If you are feeling rejected today, you are in good company. Many reject Jesus.The woman was unnamed but not forgotten, Jesus knows her name! Her name is written in the book of life. Let us follow her example, humble ourselves, give ourselves completely to Jesus and trust Him to walk with us throughout our lives. Heaven knows our names!!!
