"Not Yet": Haggai 1:1-4: Day 2

Sometimes spiritual drift doesn't look like rejecting God; it looks like continually telling Him, “Not yet.”Haggai begins with a date, some unfamiliar names—and then four incredibly revealing words:“The time has not yet come.”That's what God's people were saying about rebuilding His temple.They weren't saying, We don't want God.They weren't saying, We'll never rebuild.They were saying:Not yet.Meanwhile, they were busy rebuilding their own homes and lives.And that's what God confronts.Because sometimes spiritual drift doesn't look like rebellion.Sometimes it looks like delay.When things calm down.When I have more time.When I'm ready.Eventually.There will always be something competing for our attention. And sometimes what we're postponing isn't another religious activity—it's something God has already made clear.Forgive.Obey.Return.Confess.Spend time with Him.Take the next faithful step.The question Haggai raises is uncomfortable but necessary:Have I been calling something “not yet” that God has already called me to do?💬 Reflect: Is there something God has already made clear that you keep postponing until a “better” time?
