Nothing But The Blood

Cultural observations: Our culture seems to increasingly have an aversion to blood. Our culture is increasingly ignorant of its sin condition. Romans 3:23 (HCSB) - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:24 (HCSB) - They are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Romans 3:25 (HCSB) - God presented Him as a propitiation through faith in His blood, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His restraint God passed over the sins previously committed. 2 truths from Romans 3:23-25: We are all sinners We can be forgiven of our sins and made right with God through faith in Jesus blood 2 Corinthians 5:21 (HCSB) - “He made the One who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” Propitiation is the substitution of Jesus on our behalf God’s anger towards sin is proof of His love for us “The wrath of God is as personal, and as potent, as his love; and, just as the blood-shedding of the Lord Jesus was the direct manifesting of his Father's love toward us, so it was the direct averting of his Father's wrath against us.” - J I Packer “Behold then the kindness and severity of God” - Romans 11:22 (NASB) How should we respond? Receive God’s grace. Don’t be embarrassed about the blood of Jesus. Worship God because of His incredible rescue plan.
