Notre Dame vs Wisconsin at Lambeau | Wisconsin Badgers Football News

Notre Dame kicks off their 2026 season with a high-stakes showdown against Wisconsin at Lambeau Field — the legendary Packers’ home — in a game rescheduled from 2020 due to the pandemic. Though Notre Dame is the designated home team, expect a raucous Badgers crowd as Luke Fickell seeks redemption for his team’s shaky start under his leadership and hopes to build momentum after last year’s four-win campaign. For the Fighting Irish, coach Marcus Freeman is chasing playoff redemption after narrowly missing out despite a stellar 10-2 record; they’ve been a consistent double-digit winner over the past four seasons and are championship favorites. With star QB CJ Carr stepping up — already a Heisman frontrunner — and key running backs Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price departing to the pros, Notre Dame’s offense will be tested. The last meeting in 2021 ended in a dominant 41-13 Irish win, but this time, Wisconsin’s home-field advantage and historic upset against LSU may give them a fighting chance.
