Notre Dame’s Bevacqua Joins NCAA Basketball Committee | Notre Dame Basketball News

Pete Bevacqua, Notre Dame’s athletic director and a former NBC Sports exec, just landed a major role: he’s now on the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Selection Committee, set to begin his four-year term July 1. He’s one of only a handful to serve on both the College Football Playoff and basketball committees—and the first AD to hold both simultaneously. Joining him are three other top administrators, with Samford’s Martin Newton chairing the committee for 2026–27. Bevacqua, who returned to Notre Dame after leading golf orgs and NBC Sports, is stepping in as the ACC’s rep, replacing John Wildhack—following in the footsteps of fellow ND AD Gene Corrigan from the ’80s. With the tournament expanding to 76 teams, his influence is poised to shape the future of March Madness. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
