Yep since the day to kill for no you saw the one that is such an awesome Maybe I sucked that it didn't make the money it should have a lot of Frank Miller's work kind of falls Well, no like the original city did really well and awarded the sequel unfortunately It took them over ten years almost ten years to do the sequel which on this one I'm falling the blame to the feet of the production of me because Frank Miller and Robert is rocket their casting crew rocket advertising such and That was the whole thing. They didn't know you saw trailers and that's about it They should have did like a special like diamond edition blue right they should have did a Midnight release of the original and they should have done a lot more to it And it falls towards the average advertisers on this one So I guess here is revisit of our initial middle finger fuck you to Hollywood and their ideas of what a box office bomb is Yeah This is Josh and this is Phil and this is no work out very where we finally hit the lucky episode 13. Okay, so well this won't really deal with you so here's some keys of play I'll sweet well When I come to the girl who joined tattoo movie the American version It was pretty smooth It was different it wasn't the normal box office fair it came out around last year around Christmas time It was marketed as the feel bad movie of the holiday season Which to me was genius, but as everyone can tell I'm not a normal person Anyways, due to the underwhelming performance at the box office There's a good chance this equals to this movie will not be made in a while Where the big mom is house movies and the chipmunk movies and other movies get multiple movies Why can't this get the rifle trilogy the book sword trilogy the sweetest version was a trilogy? Why get the Americans do the sweetest it like I said and but I guess they know good movies anyways on a matter of hand I was wondering why are some of the worst grossing movies of all time and what exactly is a box office bomb So I came to this off to the North California crack research team which is up sitting next to me fell Yeah, and the deafies and I told you that a box office bomb is well This one that got defined as right a lot of people think that the bomb indicates bad movie right yet not true Thing is some good movies can be offs and here's the definition for right now This is the definition of box office bomb the phrase box office bomb also referred to as a flop refers to a film for which the overall cost production marketing and distribution Greatly exceeds the revenue regained by the movie studio. We've touched up on this before This should not be confused with Hollywood accounting when official figures show large losses yet the movie as a financial success Since the term only refers to studio returns on investment It should not be confused with a negative critical reception or even with being unpopular or before performer compared in other films After all a film with an excessive budget can bomb in terms of studio profits But still outperform the vast majority of other theatrical releases during the year a films financial success is often measured by its gross revenue Studios expect the films domestic box office gross revenue Which the American film industry defines as the United States and Canada and other film industries define as their home country will exceed Production costs this does not make the film profitable typically This exhibit exhibiting the theater keeps 45% of the gross with the remainder paid to the studio as the rental fee So that's what honestly when it really comes down to it a box office bomb is just basically a technical term for the industry But the media as a whole kind of screws they really do they think that just because it's bomb that it's bad It's really not what it is.
It's just that it's like it lost. It's my money It's when it's when Hollywood takes it in the ass Yeah, and judging by my titles I got picked here and we could probably add John Carter to that list Yeah, yeah, the movie could be very I haven't seen it but it's uh, it could be very entertaining But they took a two hundred billion dollar hit to the So if I really jump in here list I did a little bit of my own research to find the worst grossing movie of all time There's no way to spend this nicely. All right, whoever was involved in this movie Which there's a couple of kind of things already is attached to this movie. What's that?
Well, let me get that time All right, this movie only made 30 bucks. So listed as a worse grossing movie ever with like I said Only three bucks is the movie known as physics road I was in a physics road In 2006 and start Catherine high-balling Tom's one. Oh, it's reasonably big games, right? Right, it was only released in one theater Texas for six days Wow So if I'm doing my math correctly if tickets were let's roughly say about five bucks a piece Mm-hmm six people saw this movie and they probably didn't watch it They there's nothing really to do in Texas anyway, so Why not go and stay in an air condition room for a while?
Yeah, but that it was probably All-time there was another movie listed that supposedly made a lot of bucks, but this movie was entitled the worst movie ever It doesn't deserve an honorable mention. No, because that's what they were aiming for. Yeah, they wanted to be crap So you know what one bucks you deserve. Yeah, kudos to you You know, I'll hear to the list of some reasonably big name titles that were considered box-offs box Yeah, I've built these out to get the most best known but let's start with the decade of 1980s and swell.

Yes, I don't know we do it would come out now I think it actually did good because back then people didn't know what the hell they were getting it with that Exactly once again a lot of people I mean the movie is kind of a cult favorite amongst the fans of the comic book and stuff like that And I don't I definitely don't think it's the worst movie in the world. I see the worst movie in the world Air Nassau That's that's the deal here there once again Reasonable really good movie to a lot of people but it did not make its money back so they're off Second of flop flop city they fucked the duck exactly They never showed the duck fucking And black culture that one is a Disney movie is it?
Yeah, it is a movie where it kind of that part Yeah, it was one of the first Disney movies that experimented with a little bit of a dark around yeah Oh, there's no god. This is scary. Well, it's nothing compared to the secret of them. I know that wasn't a Disney movie But I was fucking weird.

It kind of shows it kind of gave me my theory when it comes to cast movies like there's a big Cast it's probably a suck. Yeah, look at now times they look at your seat Look at father's day.
Look at all those movies that have all those big names and then what kind of all you could But still it's One movie that actually I think pulled that off as well actually that was a British ensemble cast and the thing is It's an ensemble piece if there's so many stories going on, but you know what you can keep up. That's the key thing You said to wish yes, there you go the British over there you go Americans Don't know how to do as well as we do not yet. We've tried but I understand the problem with the New Year's even Valentine's They all that stuff but oh Another one of your favorites now, I'm the moon yeah Was one of my favorite movies that's one my all-time favorite movies and coffin is one of your own Yeah, and I love that stuff about my church took me to see that movie and it is hard There you go and there you go, you know good movie I mean a lot of people I talked to a lot of people good movie, but domestic gross Makes a plot but also to look at the subject and it was anti-coffin So a lot of people don't understand any coffee even this many years after this first one that's about to mention is actually one of my favorites Of monster movies yeah, yeah, I like that one so let me go down this list here See once again, I like deep rising by the plot super Mario Brothers that one deserves it Someone deserve it. Yeah, I want to have a little bit like super girl back in the 1980s that one did super Early in 1980s was the compliment of today.
Yeah, we're gonna get a couple here that do deserve it super Mario Brothers Cats don't dance the relic at role in Central Park the pedal in the pavement meteor man universal soldiers return cold-conquered the fat times No, the phantom the stupid babies day out psycho larger than life extreme measures They paid in the city Hudson Hawk and Dudley do right. Oh back track on it Let's do another one that was actually kind of decent, but I was helping the craft is larger than life to don't really It was it was you know a lot of people go to do it doesn't move it with an outfit But you won't do those but your screen I'm like guys You gotta you gotta look at the big picture here He does work that he's proud of and you know what if you actually bothered watching the movie. Yes, it's a good quick The cut yeah, it's good the concept. Oh, right the concept I will miss was really silly and I didn't see it for the longest time But it actually is a decent movie it really is kind of spruzable a little bit of it, but hey, we'll let him slide on it Yeah, so with the 90s on the way, I'll jump in with the 2000s or the 0s or what I call you I call exactly with the top of that less being bad over the galactic Scientology movie right great got figured Ballistics experts December the room which patrons Santa crap.
Yes from Justin Kelly Geeley catwoman alone in the dark the ventures of Pluto Nash, which I will go out and say that one was marketed completely wrong Probably could have fared better. Yeah, but it was marketed as an adventure movie But it was mostly a comedy and if it was marketed as a comedy would have probably fared better But most of people went into see an action film and got this and well the loaded up here Flocksy Sierra Mars needs bombs Mars needs a plot. I never saw that movie never did either 13th lawyers speed racer stealth green Leonard, but I love green lantern later green liner was a good flight I'm not a comic fan, but that was a good flight and especially Spoiler during that closing credits where the Sinestro throws on the El Ring. Oh, I wanted to see the sequel now exactly and also to his I remember correctly from what I know from the comic books doesn't his girlfriend into it.
Oh, they want to you Actually, it was um, it's not his girlfriend up big girlfriend from the movie Yeah, it's a different girl That's on the core that turns into the scarlet wish or something Yes, I'm glad to see how I'm going to say that too and the thing is when I'm moving come up I think all the people they say the same thing about Captain America the greatest superhero movie ever and I think they said that For both Green Lantern and Captain America. They're both a pretty damn thing. They were very good origin stories and how George Ryan Well, it's how Jordan was great night. There's a great small movie for every twilight There's a 50-50 not being seen people are some headshot when movies like ours come out of nowhere and win all the awards If the studios would look past the final buck different can actually stop being well I'm different. Yeah, there are three things I think Hollywood can do in order to get themselves out of the funk that they're in because I really do think I mean I mean I enjoy going to movies and stuff like that But there has been a ration of crap coming out these past you know this past decade Well, I know what close they were full of everything.

That's unnecessary Don't stop remaking or reimagining if you want to reintroduce a younger generation to something I'm all forward and if you want to improve it, I'm all for it, but don't do it when it is unnecessary You see what I mean?
You know stick with the classics there unless you want to reintroduce the right way because I've seen concept I to the new turtles and I think I'm gonna shit myself. Footloops was fine as it is I've seen the remake and you remember how when they talked about it, you know footloops the accident that happened in the beginning of the movie was They Was it was mentioned but they never showed it like but you know what really put me off when I see it saw the remake They're not the beginning to have these kids partying The thing and the footloops things going on wow this could be a decent movie Loose and then they get blown up because they get smashed the accident actually show the accident it closed you right in reality Wow, yeah I mean they have to be right in your face with this and the thing is I love the subtlety of the original the accident that happened and killed These people was mentioned but never shown and also I mean, it's the same movie You know other than the fact that they wanted to show I guess that big explosion the very beginning of the movie The movie is exactly the same and the remake was totally unnecessary the next one that they're doing I said I haven't seen the movie yet because it's not out yet But I've seen the teaser and I'm telling you right now It's unnecessary total recall the first one I mean the original one that came out the 1980s with Arnold Schwarzenegger It was an eye-popping incredible film why why do we have to do a remake with Colin fella? Which is more CG? It's not I mean the special effects even though I mean there was some CG in the original 1987 one Yeah, but they want to you know uploaded with more make the tech look I mean the movie is fine as is and it still looks futuristic today. Why do you need to mess with it?
So people can understand the lead actor probably Probably I can go to lunch. Yeah, it's off the lads. That's half the fun It is and no one does action and you know using a guy as a shield I mean, I thought that was fucked up, but the movie is still fun to watch Alright now the third thing yeah, I think Hollywood can do and you know get themselves out of the funk is this look Just because something a story is good You know as a book or book series or book franchise doesn't mean it'll translate well to cinema people now look Harry Potter I'm not a big fan, but I can understand a lot of people do enjoy it But I keep hearing people the book is better the book is always better Yeah, because there's no limit to your met to your imagination However, there is a limit to how far a box office budget will go to making something you know I'm looking forward to both of us in a vercan link and Still not 100% it'll translate well and soon. Yeah, and with this whole Twilight BS You know first Harry Potter did this you know you have what was it seven books seven books eight movies eight movies because they split the last Book last movie into two parts. So now let's stretch out every painstaking detail in the book and you know get out there And they're also doing that with breaking dawn and they're doing that with the Hunger Games I don't think the Hunger Games needed to be a movie to tell you the truth. I'm sorry I know I haven't read the book. I haven't read the movies.
Oh, maybe I haven't seen the movie Yeah, yeah, yeah Nonetheless, maybe I don't have a right to opinion, but I still don't think I mean I've read this synopsis It doesn't need to be a movie. It's not as if it's that interesting. Well, that's all good though As soon as the book gets popular with anybody they want to cash in it's all about like I said with Hollywood It's the final book there you go But those are the three things I think they could do and maybe they can you know get rid of some of the bombs and just I mean Because the thing is with books you think again Well, because everybody says the same exact thing the book is better than read the fucking book I'll complain about the movie, but that's gonna be forever.
