Well, listeners, since you love them so much, here is reissue number 7, where we discuss the legends. Oh, yeah, that's probably, yes. Depending on how long between the last reissue and this reissue, you're probably wondering if it's going to take so long. Because we're lazy!

Well, this is side B, and now that I've gone through beating Josh unconscious. Dude, you're lucky you're still fucking breathing. Oh, my God. We are ready to continue.

Ow! All right, I don't know. That's probably it. All right, okay, so really quick.

Now to move away from favorites of today into our legends portion. We will take a quick pause for the names that would have easily been on these lists, but we are getting tired of our long-term episodes. Right. So here's the quick rundown of a ratifier honorable mentions.

Okay, here we go. Jim Jepperd. Bill Black. Theresa Young.

Nick Hepperd. Dan Cook. Calis. Dan Slurry.

Todd Glass. David Tell. And here's a quick list of the legends that we wish we had coming for. Yes.

Dan Coffin. Sam Caniston. Steve Martin. Rodney Dangerfield.

Lenny Bruce. J-Rell. Brett Fox. Don Rickles.

And Eddie Murphy. Thank you very much. Okay, now that the ratifier honorable mentions list is done, it's time to move to the legends that have built the foundation for the comics of today, and humor in general. Right.

And the guy that comes first on the list is a comic that wasn't around for too long, but his impact is still built today. Really? Bill Hicks. The name sounds familiar.

Check him out on YouTube, and you'll understand who I'm talking about. Okay. You'll realize who I'm talking about. All right.

This artist was here only for a short period of time. But like I said, he made a huge impact. In a world where angry comics weren't even a choice, he stood with a mic in hand and verbally gave the world the middle finger. From topics of drugs, government, family, religion, advertising, and everything in between, if the man had a thought on the subject, he was going to put it out there.

As I sit here and try to figure out more things to say about him, I realize it's going to be too hard. He has to be seen to be believed. I would highly recommend a great, great documentary, America, American, The Bill Hicks Story. It is a mandatory viewing for any fan of Stan O'Connor.

You know, I think I'm going to give that a look. I would highly recommend it anyway. I am. Yeah, cool.

And now that was Bill Hicks, right? Yeah, Bill Hicks. All right. I guess I'll start with mine.

One of my favorite comedy legends would have to be Bill Cosby. There you go. No. The man is so relatable, and he tells real funny, genuine, and for the most part, clean jokes that everyone can enjoy.

Now, he takes a real good picture on how he grew up in lower middle class, and what it was like raising his own kids. You know, one of the most notable characters that was fun from his life experience was Fat Allen. I was never fond of the Fat Albert TV show, but I enjoyed hearing about him in his stand-up. Yeah, that's recent, too.

I started listening to stand-up comedy on Pandora, and Bill Cosby is on a lot when I listen to the George Carlin Network. Oh, yeah. And I just listened to a big riff about Fat Albert. I'm like, you know, the Fat Albert cartoon show, mm, it is...

It was absent. It didn't have Bill Cosby's soul. Yeah. He may have been narrating it, but it was kick-roll.

It was better off having Bill Cosby do the impression, because that's what makes it golden, and that's what stillifies the character. I prefer his interpretation of the character than the actual show. But also, too, his interpretation of it actually made it to the live-action movie. It's a movie with a lot better.

It would have, it would have, and I missed out on the movie, and the thing is that I know Bill Cosby had a cameo, and I really, uh... Maybe someday I'll pop it in and see what it's about. It's worth watching. Okay, okay.

I'll think we'll give a shot, and one thing I can really recommend about Bill Cosby, if you can find it on DVD or VHS, watch the stand-up special Bill Cosby himself. Like I said, with American, the best story, Bill Cosby himself, that is mandatory viewing. It is mandatory viewing if you love stand-up comedy at all. So that's what I have to say on it.

Your next one, you go. The legendary name that is Richard Pryor. Oh, oh, oh, oh, yes. And like it did with Christopher Titus, I'm going to give you a little bit of a taste of his work right now with this book.

If the fire hits your ass, it'll swim your ass up quickly. I saw something. I went, wow, that's a pretty blue. You know what?

That looks like fire! Ha! Fire's inspirational. They should use it in Olympics, because I ran the 100 in 4.3 seconds.

Which, that little riff comes from Richard Pryor's accidental burning. Yeah. With a crack like, which you call them cookies in it. I love that.

Yeah. But also, if you notice something with my list, most of my comics have had trouble backwards and used that feel to make their art. Well, Richard Pryor was one of those people looking for nothing, wasn't he? Pryor became a legend with the hardships in his life and a lot more.

Pryor had the drive and talent that maintained the force behind the mic. His talent broke through the comedy walls and made it into the movie theaters with some classic movies. One of my personal favorites of his is Brewster's films. Oh, yeah.

His talent made a lasting impact in the role of comedy, like he still felt today. As the comedy community and Comedy Central placed Pryor in the top spot during the 2004 special, Comedy Central presents the 100 greatest stand-up comics of all time. Oh, wow. Have you ever seen Seen O Evil, Hear No Evil?

Another one of my personal favorites. They're just fun to watch. Also, too, you look at them, too. You never think they'd be able to work off each other that well.

Yeah, yeah. Not even a racist or anything like that. You just look at them and go, okay. You've got a scrawny white guy.

Yeah. And you've got Richard Pryor, a real big buck, you know, a really black guy. Yeah. You wouldn't think that this would match.

Yes, but he is. Every time they're on stage together, it was freaking hilarious. I just have to get that out. And, you know, Richard Pryor's a real big part of that.

I love that. It's an acting blind. Oh, yeah. It's a little blank stare.

Oh, yeah. Perfect. My other favorite comic legend I love is Robin Williams. Now, not only is he a terrific comedian and improvisationalist, but he is also a phenomenal actor.

But, hey, would you really expect anything less from a Juilliard alumni? No. No. I don't think so.

And, you know, turn off the man is a Legend of Zelda fan. He loves to play video games. I mean, the man is in his 50s, and he's still playing Call of Duty. That's hardcore.

Yeah. You know, you should hear some of his gaming stories. They're hilarious. And I can say more, but like all other comedians mentioned, his work just speaks for itself.

Robin Williams, look up his stuff and just watch what he does when you get that man on stage. Oh, it's incredible. Honestly, with every single comic that we've mentioned on this list. Yeah.

Same is believable. Yeah. Magic. There's a certain kind of magic that seems to erupt when these, you know, people are on stage.

And I think that could be truer about the one we're about to introduce. Now, all the comedians we've mentioned, they hold a really wonderful part in our hearts. But there is, um, to those who know us, there is one comedian that holds the golden ticket to our funny bone. And I am, of course, talking about...

Carlin. Carlin. Carlin. Are you again?

Are you fucking serious? Chairman of the board was pretty funny. Did I eat money to say that piece of shit? I still have this stuff.

Dude, if you are fucking serious, you can take your props, take it the fuck out. And if you actually believe me, you can shut up your ass. Because, of course, it's George Carlin. I didn't think so.

George Carlin is a legend that will cap these two episodes. In the world of stand-up comedy, and comedy as a whole, this man is held in high regards to the whole entertaining community. He may have been beat by Rich Pryor on the Comedy Central list, but this is our show, and we can do whatever the hell we want. That's great.

Now, as we can talk for hours about his work, and trust us, we can. Now, I would suggest letting the work speak for itself. The multiple albums, such as A Place for My Stuff, Parental Advisory, Explicit Lyrics, FM and AM, which we used as the titles of the past two episodes, the FM and AM album took Carlin from the lounge act that everyone was accustomed to seeing him, and taking him to the counterculture icon George was becoming. In every albums, it's impossible to forget the HBO specials.

There's 15 in total, and HBO knew exactly what they had with them. As the first special opens, the HBO president at the time appears basically saying, you're about to use some foul language, but this man's an artist, so suck it. I'm probably paraphrasing there, but I digress. Finally, there's the printed word.

As the resume shows, George didn't use this medium too often, but when he did, it was always gold. Anything that has Carlin's name attached, I would highly recommend checking out. Even Jersey Girl. But you may want to hold off on Scary Movie 3.

This part was awesome, but the rest of the new shit. You know, I can say so much on George Carlin. The one thing I really want to touch on is just how many doors were open for other comedians like Lewis Black and Robin Williams and Richard Pryor, just because he wasn't afraid to say the seven words you can never say on television. I really believe that we wouldn't have a lot of comedians telling the kind of jokes they tell today, if not for Carlin, starting the revolution.

And also, no matter what album I'm listening to it is, it's just like hearing the jokes for the first time. And not too many comedians do that for me. No, it's either you did or you just don't. If you don't get it, no worries, you won't get too many Netflix.

In everyone's life, there's those moments when you realize how your sense of humor is formed. Well, we have now officially completed one of our bucket list episodes, a tribute to The Wake for Carlin. When we first started this podcast, I knew we had to do one for Carlin, so there you go. Yep, it's done, and I have to say, I think it's done very well.

Yes. All right. Now then, I guess we need to get our business out of the way. Ah, yes, let's do the structure.

With the new gear, we're going to start tightening up more things. We're going to have no more long-form episodes, so you're not going to have to sit here for three hours listening to us and yammer about crap. Nope. And then also, too, we are going to start going for two episodes a month, so you're going to get more of us, aren't you, real?

Yeah, you're going to get more of us, but in lesser quantity. Lesser quantity, but same quality. Yep. As with every episode, we always end with a stupid game.

And we always will have a stupid game. Yes, and the name of the game is... City Acronyms. Yes, and since this is a George Carlin episode, I decided to pick TIT as the acronym.

T-I-T. T-I-T, yes. As George Carlin says, it's a cute name. It sounds like a nickname.

Tits. Tits means tits. Tits, tits, tits, tits, tits. Now that the reference is out of the way, my first beginning with the acronym TIT.

My first little guy. Tell it, Tom. Tits is terrific. T-I-T, uh, Twisted, Tweaker.

Tweet items, tentacles. Tuck it, Tiffany. Tell it, Theodore. Trip it, Troy.

Thurman, insert Tom. Tip it, Taddy. Time is tipsy. Tell Ingrid, tribe.

Tits is terrific. You know what? I don't think I can drop that one. Really?

No, I don't really do. I had a whole bunch. I shot them out, but tits are terrific. Tits are terrific, sorry.

Tits are terrific, and I don't think George Carlin could say it any better. So we won't. See ya. And these are reruns.

So, we just throw them on a rerun. So that ends our first two part, which was kind of a big step for us. It was. Yeah, after doing our month-a-month episodes, our marathon episodes, and then finally deciding, oh, let's bring this shit in.

Yeah, let's give it a shot. I thought we were running out of ideas back then. Yeah, and now we're getting up to, we're recording 46 as of today, August 19, 2013. I think we're doing really well considering I ran out of ideas a lot of time.

I, I, I work together. Yep. And all that's in the middle, though. For a reason.

It wasn't a reissue 7.
