NPI and Different Paths to the Same Place - D3 Datacast - Episode 137

from D3 Datacast Hosted by Matt Snyder

Official NPI rankings were released by the NCAA for Division III men’s and women’s basketball last week, putting renewed focus on the metric by which teams will be selected and seeded for the NCAA Tournament. That makes it a great time to talk about the fundamentals. What is NPI? How does it work? Whether you need an introduction or just a refresher, we break it down so fans know what is going on that leads to each team’s overall NPI. Then we dive into an interesting comparison of two different kind of resumes that got teams into just about the same place in the NPI rankings. Join us this week on The D3 Datacast for that and more as we look back at last week in a new Four-Point Play, get some quick high-level thoughts on Matt’s forthcoming Top 25 ballot, pick another slate of games against the computer line and wrap-up with two pieces of mail in the mailbag.
