NRRShow 5Dec2012 SouthOfTheBorder
from New Roots Radio Hosted by New Roots Radio
On today's New Roots Radio we go south of the border to find out how the US is dealing with immigration. Is Canada truly a more welcoming, open society? Can we learn any lessons from their experience? We talk with political scientist Louis DeSipio about Obama's chances of pushing through immigration reform, to producers Wendy Thompson and Eduardo Lopez about their new documentary Harvest of Empire, to Blueseed, a Silicon Valley startup building a floating office block just outside the US border, and to Amir and Reyhaneh, an Iranian couple who couldn't make it in Canada and sought greener pastures on the other side of the border.
