NSFAS defunds old qualifications

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) through a circular notice sent to university registrars on 12 February, announced that financial aid for certain university qualifications in teaching and nursing will no longer be available for first-year students. A final list of funded qualifications is still being devised in consultation with the Department of Higher Education and Training. We spoke to Ishmael Mnisi, spokesperson for the Department of Higher Education.
