NSVMaster Gardeners: Gardening in the Valley Tour

Our conversation today for "Extension Office Friday" featured Northern Shenandoah Valley Master Gardeners, Elaine Specht & Dianne Lacy to give details for the Gardening in the Valley Tour happening on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 9am - 4pm. The pair told us about the featured gardens and the unique things you will encounter when visiting each. There are four featured gardens that can be visited in any order and for any length of time. The Gardening in the Valley Tour features two gardens within the city limits of Front Royal as well as country gardens in Warren and Clarke counties. There is a mix of established and newly developed garden spaces, each one offering creative ideas for gardening enthusiasts of all levels, from novice to expert. Master Gardeners will be on-site at each garden to point out educational features and answer questions about other gardening challenges. The four gardens being featured this year include: Warren Heritage Society Gardens (101 Chester St., Front Royal) The Blue House (Downtown Front Royal) Tall Oaks (approx. 1.5 miles east of I-81 in Warren County) Montevento (approx. 5 miles west of Berryville in Clarke County) Tickets are $10 in advance and can be purchased on their website through noon on June 23 (the day before the tour.) Tickets can also be purchased on the day of the tour for $12 at the following sites between 9am - 2pm: Warren Heritage Society, 101 Chester St., Front Royal, and Sponseller's Flower Shop, 2 West Main Street, Berryville. Proceeds from the 2023 Gardening in the Valley Tour will support 4-H programs in Warren and Clarke Counties, enabling youth to attend 4-H summer camp.
