The answer was equally puzzling to this young woman! So she leaves Nazareth and heads for the hills to see Elizabeth, her older wiser relative (Luke 1). Why? She needs to talk and be heard. For three months these two women walk and talk through life together, experiencing spiritual, emotional and physical times and I imagine Mary was present for the birth of John.
